Give your hybrid the service it deserves by scheduling a Hybrid Health Check with Copcutt Toyota. Our technicians know your vehicle inside and out, so no-one is better placed to provide the expertise necessary to keep your Hybrid functioning at its optimum level.

So for peace of mind and exceptional value, look after the system that looks after you with a Hybrid Health Check.

Toyota is The Home of Hybrid Technology

Last year, there were 5 million of our hybrids on the road - that's 80% of the total worldwide. Toyota GB are the biggest producer of this innovative technology and have been developing hybrid since 1969. We know how to keep your hybrid healthy.

At the heart of your Toyota is Hybrid Synergy Drive® technology. This is the system that intelligently combines petrol power with two electric motors to give you exceptional fuel efficiency and smooth, near-silent driving. This innovative technology needs specialist care. From the launch of Toyota Century, the first gas turbine hybrids in 1975 to the introduction of the World's first compact estate hybrid in the Auris Touring Sports in 2013, Toyota GB have lead the way with hybrid. Nobody knows your Toyota hybrid better.

Protect the Heart of Your Hybrid

An annual Hybrid Health Check at Copcutt Toyota is the best way to ensure you are safeguarding the health of your vehicle for years to come.

We will complete a full test of the whole Hybrid Synergy Drive® system. Our approved experts are trained to make this test accessible to help you fully understand the condition of your Toyota hybrid. You will be given an extensive and accessible written report that will provide you with the itemised information from your Hybrid Health Check. Our technician will then talk you through the report so that you can fully understand the health of your hybrid, empowering you to make an informed decision on the next steps.

Protect Your Investment

The Toyota Hybrid Health Check is the best way to ensure the optimal performance of your vehicle. By scheduling the health check annually you can spot any issues early and respond before they turn into bigger problems.

A free Hybrid Health Check is now included with any Hybrid Service.

But if you're not due a service for a while you can still benefit from the Hybrid Health Check at a cost of £39.

This great value is combined with the added benefit of an extension to the warranty of your battery. With each Hybrid Health Check you will get up to 1 year or 10,000 miles extension (whichever comes soonest) on your hybrid battery cover which can be renewed up to the 10th anniversary of the car's registration with no limit on total mileage.

Tyre Maintenance

Keeping your tyres in good condition doesn't just mean your Toyota is even more fuel efficient and performs better; it means you're safer on the road too.

If you're in any doubt about the condition of your tyres; pop into Copcutt Toyota so we can check them for you. You don't need an appointment, and we'll repair any punctures, for free, if we feel it's safe to do so, rather than replace your tyre. We can also offer expert advice, and fitting of a wide range of tyres.

Your Car Tyre Checklist

  • The legal minimum tyre tread depth for cars is 1.6mm in a continuous band throughout the central three-quarters of the tread width, throughout the whole of the tyre circumference
  • Your tyres must be suitably inflated for the purpose in which your car is being used (heavy loads, long distances, road conditions etc.)
  • Tyres must not have a cut, in excess of 25mm or 10% of the tyre section width, whichever is the greater, which is deep enough to reach the tyre's internal structure
  • Tyres must not have a lump, bulge or tear caused by separation or partial failure of its structure
  • Tyres must not have any ply or cord exposed
  • You can be fined up to a maximum of £2,500 and given a driving licence endorsement of 3 penalty points for driving with illegal tyres

Winter Weather Tyres

Many of us forget that protecting ourselves against adverse weather also extends to the tyres on our car. Typically in the UK between October & March temperatures dip below 7°C, and that's when performance of your usual tyre can be reduced.

Winter Weather Tyres make you safer on the road by offering better grip. Better grip means better braking, which is safer for you and those around you. See below for just how much winter tyres can reduce your stopping distances in cold weather.

The Cold Hard Facts

When the temperature drops below 7°C the tread compound in normal tyres begins to harden. This gives you less grip on the road and so increases stopping distances. Modern rubber compound technology and advances in tread design mean that today's Winter Weather tyres reduce this hardening effect, providing higher levels of road safety on cold and damp road surfaces.

MOT & Vehicle Checks

It's mandatory for all cars over 3 years old to undergo an annual MOT check-up.

We’ll be happy to arrange your MOT for you, and are authorised to carry out any repair work that may be necessary.

What is an MOT?

The MOT is a compulsory annual test for every vehicle over 3 years old. It checks that your car is roadworthy and complies with key safety and environmental requirements.

What are the key areas that are looked at during an MOT?

  • Vehicle Identification Number.
  • Registration plate.
  • Lights and horn.
  • Steering, suspension, wheels, brakes and tyres.
  • Windscreen, wipers and washer bottle.
  • Seats and seatbelts.
  • Fuel system.
  • Emissions.
  • Bodywork, doors and mirrors.

When does my car need an MOT?

Once the car is 3 years old it will need an MOT every 12 months. The car can be brought in up to one month before the date of expiry as shown on the MOT certificate.

Why should I choose Copcutt Toyota to carry out my MOT?

If your car does fail its MOT, we are the best place to help. Our highly-trained Toyota technicians will be able to carry out any repairs using genuine Toyota parts and their intimate knowledge of your car.

What happens if my car fails the MOT?

If your car does fail the MOT, you will be issued with a VT30 certificate that states the reason for failure. You may also be eligible for a free re-test if the car is repaired at Copcutt Toyota.

The 'Minute Or Two' Check

Before you take your vehicle for its annual MOT test, Copcutt Toyota recommend that you carry out a number of quick and easy visual checks to give your car the best chance of passing the test – saving you time and money.

Brake Lights

Press the brake pedal and ask a friend to check that the rear brake lights come on – including any supplementary brake strip light. Alternatively, carefully reverse up to a reflective surface (window, wall or garage door) and look behind to see for yourself.

They save your life in a crash, but only if they work properly – inspect the full length for damage and tug sharply on all the seatbelts to check that they react as they're supposed to if you have to brake severely.

Wheels and Tyres

Check that wheels and tyres are undamaged. The minimum legal tyre tread depth is 1.6mm and any tyres with less than this will be marked as an MOT 'fail' (though it's recommended that tyres are changed when tread reaches 3mm). If you're in doubt about how much tread is left on a tyre, we can check for you. Copcutt Toyota can also advise on the type of tyre that is right for your car if a replacement is required.

Check the view out of the front of the car for damage – any damage larger than 40mm will cause a 'fail', as will any damage wider than 10mm in the 'swept' area of the windscreen in front of the driver.

Screen Wash

Top up the washer bottle before taking the car in for a test – something as simple as an empty container can cause an MOT fail.

Head Lights and Indicators

Check that all of your car's lights function properly – headlights, sidelights, rear lights, hazard lights and indicators.

Windscreen Wipers

Make sure your wipers are able to keep your windscreen clean – any tears or holes in the wiper rubber can be an MOT fail.

Give a short blast of the horn – if it doesn't work, we will need to repair or replace it.

Number Plate

Make sure that the number plate is clean and legible – even a quick wipe with a cloth can make a difference. The font and spacing of letters must also comply with legal requirements to pass your MOT.

Fuel and Engine Oil

Make sure your car is filled with enough fuel and engine oil – you can be turned away from the MOT without suitable levels of either, both of which are required by Copcutt Toyota when running the car to test its emissions levels. If you are unsure about the type of oil that should be used, ask us. Note: When checking fluid levels and handling parts that could be become hot to touch (e.g. bulbs) it's always best to ensure that the vehicle has had opportunity to cool down fully.

Free Visual Safety Check

Sometimes in life it's nice to get something great for free, and at Copcutt Toyota you can book in for a free Visual Safety Check; a comprehensive inspection of your Toyota that checks everything from bodywork to brakes.

Qualified technicians will perform 37 checks all for free. You'll get a clear and precise report that highlights anything that needs doing urgently to meet safety and legal requirements, as well as any work that might need doing before your next service is due.
